How to Host Your First Experience on Xpego: A Step-by-Step Guide

By The Xpego Team · Updated 31 August 2026

Have a workshop, class, or session you want to run? Hosting on Xpego takes a listing, a schedule, and a quick review — not a website, a payment gateway, or a spreadsheet. Here is exactly how to go from idea to your first booking.

Who can host on Xpego

If your experience brings people together, it belongs on Xpego. Hosts run pottery and painting workshops, yoga and sound-healing sessions, supper clubs and baking classes, treks and cycling tours, heritage walks, open mics, and more. You do not need to be a full-time creator or own a studio to start — just an experience worth showing up for.

Step 1 — Apply (about two minutes)

Fill out the short application on the “List Your Experience” page. It asks the basics about you and what you want to host. Our team reviews applications within about 48 hours and gets in touch — this quick review is what keeps Xpego curated and trusted, so guests know every experience has been looked at by a human.

Step 2 — Build your listing

Once you are approved, you set up your experience. A strong first listing has:

  • A clear, specific title and description — what guests will do, make, or learn, and who it is for.
  • Bright, real photos of the activity and the space. Your first image is your storefront.
  • What is included, what to bring, and any prerequisites, so guests arrive prepared.
  • Transparent pricing. Guests see the full price up front, so there are no surprises at checkout.

Step 3 — Set your schedule and capacity

Add the weekly slots you want to run and how many guests each can hold. Regular, repeating slots build habit and help the platform surface you to the right seekers. Your plan sets how many live experiences and weekly slots you can run — start on the Free plan to test the waters with one experience, and move up as you grow.

No space of your own? You do not need one. Through the venue marketplace, Xpego can place your experience at a partner venue that fits — and if the venue offers food and beverage, guests can add that as a package they pay for directly at the venue.

Step 4 — Go live and take bookings

When your listing is ready, it goes live and you get your own dashboard. From there Xpego does the heavy lifting:

  • Checkout and payment collection are handled for you — no payment gateway to set up.
  • Guests get instant confirmations, and automated WhatsApp reminders before the session, which means fewer no-shows.
  • Your earnings are settled to you after each booking, minus the platform fee.
  • You manage bookings, slots, and customers from one place — no spreadsheets.

Make your first experience a great one

A few habits consistently turn a first-timer into a repeat host:

  • Deliver more than the photos promised — word of mouth is your best marketing.
  • Ask happy guests to leave a review. Reviews are the single strongest driver of future bookings.
  • Keep your schedule consistent for a few weeks so regulars can form a habit around you.
  • Reply quickly and share the practical details — location, parking, what to bring — to remove any hesitation before someone books.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee to list an experience on Xpego?

You can start on the Free plan and list your first experience at no upfront cost. Paid plans (Growth and Pro) unlock more live experiences and weekly slots. New creators also get an introductory commission-free window, after which commission is low, tiered by plan, and charged only on revenue you actually collect.

Do I need to handle payments myself?

No. Xpego handles checkout and payment collection for every booking, and settles your earnings to you after each booking. You do not need your own payment gateway.

How quickly will my listing go live?

The team reviews applications within about 48 hours. Once you are approved and your listing is set up with photos, slots, and pricing, it can go live shortly after.

What if I do not have my own venue?

You do not need one. Through Xpego’s venue marketplace, your experience can be placed at a partner venue that fits — optionally with a food-and-beverage package that guests pay for directly at the venue.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

Xpego applies a clear, time-based cancellation policy for guests, with the platform fee non-refundable. You can read the full schedule on the Cancellation Policy page.
